Lots to Do in My Space Downtown Neighborhood

My Space Downtown, a coworking site in the heart of downtown Panama City, is in a location that makes it “a worker’s paradise.”

“People come to My Space Downtown to work, but they also come for the location and all it has to offer,” says Michelle Sparks, office manager at My Space. “They take advantage of the local restaurants, bars and activities that are all within walking distance.” Panama City is a beautiful Florida Panhandle city right on the Gulf Coast.

Located at 97 Oak Avenue, My Space Downtown provides a variety of rental options for working as well as access to neighborhood restaurants, shops and events.

Michelle shares some favorite places near My Space Downtown:

El Weirdo Taco Pub, a funky little taco joint and brewpub in downtown Panama City celebrates the arts and all things weird. The owners say, “Our goal with El Weirdo is to celebrate people who make the fabric of our community vibrant while serving up the best tacos you’ve ever eaten. We want to celebrate “weird” because we are weirdos and proud of it. And we want you to be weirdos with us.” Location: 24 W. Oak Avenue, a short walk from My Space.

Downtown Boxing Club is a gym for EVERYONE! Young or old, in shape or out of shape, you determine your starting point! The club promises you can learn boxing, or: “If you prefer to not have someone swing at that beautiful face of yours, you can always participate in group classes or private lessons where you will practice shadow boxing, hitting mitts with your coach, or hitting the heavy bags!” Location: 320 Luverne Ave., a short four blocks from My Space.

Mosey’s Downtown is a hopping-busy pub offering homemade pizza and craft beers, plus regular live music and other entertainment such as karaoke. Location: 425 Grace Avenue, two short blocks from My Space.

Gallery of Art is a beautiful, free art gallery featuring fine art, retail art, public space art, film festivals, and an event space. The gallery sponsors a downtown art walk, too. The space offers a great break during the workday. Location: 36 W. Beach Drive, less than two blocks from My Space.

Trigo San Francisco Style Deli is a food stop where you can order deli fare, pizza, quiche and soups. They promise fast service and natural ingredients, with options for vegetarians. The restaurant also is known as one of the most consistently good food places in Panama City. Location: 119 Harrison, two short blocks from My Space.

History Class Brewing Company offers a place to unwind after a hard day’s work. Featuring a selection of craft beer and appetizers, History Class is a place to meet friends and family. Their beers span the spectrum from light approachable ales to hazy IPAs, sours, and porters. Location: 6 East 4th Street, about two blocks from My Space.

For water lovers, there’s plenty to do after work in nearby St. Andrews Bay, too! Panama City offers two-hour “swim with the dolphin” events, private floating yoga, sunset cruises, “paddle ‘n glow” lighted night kayaking, inshore fishing charters and e-bike tours.

“As coworking becomes more accepted and popular, our clients at My Space Downtown can locate here, be productive, and then have easy access to world-class fun,” Michelle says. “We’re unique in all that we can offer for work options and fun.”
